Kathmandu Upatyaka Khanepani Limited KUKL Introduction Started in 21 December 2000, Melamchi Water Supply Project (MWSP) is an Asian Development Bank assisted project which aims to improve the overall scenario of the water and wastewater utility of the Kathmandu Valley. MWSP covers a part of Indrawati and Bagmati watershed and includes areas of five districts. The key water diversion facilities are located within Sindhupalchowk and Kavrepalanchowk districts, whereas, water treatment plant, water distribution and the ancillary structures, are located within Kathmandu valley.  Later in 2008, MWSP was split into two distinct Subprojects; (i) the Melamchi River Water Diversion Subproject (Subproject -1) covering all project activities in Melamchi Valley including constructions of Water Diversion Tunnel (WDT) and Water Treatment Plant (WTP) and (ii) Kathmandu Valley Water Supply and Sanitation Subproject (Subproject -2): Kathmandu Valley Water Supply and Sanitation P

   About Tamakoshi Hydro Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has established an autonomous company named Upper Tamakoshi Hydropower Limited (UTKHPL) in March 2007 (2063/11/25 B.S.) as an executing agency for the implementation of the Project. There are six full time and two invitee members in the Board of Directors (BoD) at present. Out of six full time members, four members from NEA, one from Employees Provident Fund (EPF) and one from Nepal Telecom (NTC) are representing in the BoD. Similarly, representatives of Citizen Investment Trust (CIT) and Rastriya Beema Sansthan (RBS) are also in the BoD as invitee members. KATHMANDU, JUL 09 - Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai has warned to scrap all the facilities being provided to ex-king Gyanendra Shah. The prime minister said so at the time when Shah has been saying that there would be a comeback of monarchy in the country. "The ex-king has not still learnt lesson, the state shall deprive him of all the facilities," Bhattarai said. Ruling out the possibility of revival of monarchy, Bhattarai warned not to get benefit from the disputes seen among the political parties. Speaking at a programme organised on the occasion of Global Bank’s merger with IME Financial Institution and Lord Buddha Finance, Bhattarai said the political parties have been moving ahead despite differences.
